You can request deletion of your VoiceBee account and all associated data at any time. This page explains exactly what gets deleted, how to request it, and how long it takes.
How to request deletion
Send an email to hello@bytebee.gr from the email address you use with VoiceBee, with the subject line "Delete my VoiceBee account". Include:
- The email address on the account you want deleted
- (Optional) Which platforms you've used — desktop, iOS, Android — so we can confirm all sessions are revoked
We verify that the request comes from the account owner, then delete the account within 30 days (typically within 72 hours). You will receive a confirmation email when deletion is complete.
What gets deleted
- Account record — your email, user profile, referral code
- All transcript history — every transcription you have ever produced, permanently erased from our encrypted storage
- Usage statistics — daily word counts, session counts, recording durations
- Custom dictionary & voice snippets — any custom terms or shortcuts you created
- AI Assistants configurations — every custom assistant, their prompts, knowledge base files, and connected-app tokens
- Active authentication sessions — you will be signed out of every device
- Subscription records — the link between your account and your Stripe, Apple, or Google Play subscription is removed from our database
What does NOT get deleted automatically
Some records may persist outside VoiceBee. You need to cancel these separately:
- Stripe subscription (if you subscribed via the website) — cancel at your Stripe Customer Portal or email us and we will cancel it for you. Deleting the account will not refund past charges.
- Apple App Store subscription (if you subscribed via iOS) — you must cancel it in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Apple does not allow us to cancel on your behalf.
- Google Play subscription (if you subscribed via Android) — cancel it in Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Google Play does not allow us to cancel on your behalf.
- Backup copies and audit logs — encrypted backups and security audit logs may be retained for up to 90 days as required for infrastructure operations and incident response. These are automatically purged.
- Anonymized aggregate data — aggregate statistics (e.g. total words transcribed across all users) that cannot be linked back to you may be retained indefinitely.
Before you delete
If you want to keep your transcript history before deleting the account, ask for an export in the same email. We will send you a copy of your transcripts in JSON format within 30 days at no cost.
If you only want to clear your transcripts (not delete the whole account), you can do that yourself in the app — open History and remove entries individually or use the Clear all action in the app settings.
Your rights under GDPR
Account deletion is one of several rights guaranteed by the EU General Data Protection Regulation. You also have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, and object to processing of your data. See the full Privacy Policy for details, or email hello@bytebee.gr to exercise any right.
